Community Involvement

Michael Nielsen (President of WS Nielsen) has been a member of the Roswell Rotary since 1997.  He is an active member and very involved with the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve life in our community.


logo.jpgIn May 2008 The Roswell Rotary had the privilege of escorting 100 of North Fulton Georgia’s World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. to view their Memorial.  Michael Nielsen, of W.S. Nielsen Company headed up the program, called the Roswell Rotary Honor Air.  The program was such a big success the Roswell Rotary sponsored another trip in October 2008.  Again, Michael Nielsen along with several of the W.S. Nielsen staff played a part in the effort.  We wish to express our gratitude to these selfless “ordinary people who saved the world” .

Ron Clark, who became known as “American Educator” due to his work with disadvantaged youths both in rural North Carolina and inner-city Harlem, has devoted the majority of his time for the past year to opening a school in Atlanta for students from low-wealth areas.


Naturalite Skylight Systems and W. S. Nielsen Company joined companies around the country in donating resources to the new school.  Naturalite donated the pyramid skylights and W.S. Nielsen Company donated the labor to install the skylights.  In addition, Michael Nielsen is involved in hosting fund raising events for this noble cause to improve the quality of life for less fortunate youths in our community.
